NIGHTRAGE To Enter Studio In November
August 28, 2006Swedish/Greek melodic death metal outfit NIGHTRAGE will enter Hansen studios in Ribe, Denmark on November 28 to begin recording their new album, tentatively due in early 2007 via Lifeforce Records. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Spiral", "Reconcile" and "Scathing". "We are pretty satisfied with the material and we are looking forward to go to the studio and make a killer album," Marios Ilipoulos, NIGHTRAGE guitarist/songwriter.
As previously reported, NIGHTRAGE is officially looking for a drummer and a lead/rhythm guitarist to complete the group's current lineup. "We have tried some guys around here and soon we will announce the new members," said Ilipoulos.
In other news, Ilipoulos and NIGHTRAGE frontman Jimmie Strimell recently recorded a guest appearance for the new DRAGONLAND album, "Astronomy", tentatively due in November through Century Media Records. "I'm really satisfied with my guitar lead and the other guys that listened to it liked it as well," stated Marios. "Also Jimmie did an awesome work with his vocals, screaming his lungs out."
NIGHTRAGE was originally formed in Greece back in the year 2000 by Iliopoulos (formerly of EXHUMATION, who released three high-quality death metal albums, all produced in Sweden) and his friend Gus G. (DREAM EVIL, FIREWIND, MYSTIC PROPHECY). NIGHTRAGE released two albums on Century Media Records, "Sweet Vengeance" (2003) and "Descent Into Chaos" (2005),before they parted ways with vocalist Tomas Lindberg (AT THE GATES, DISFEAR, THE CROWN) and Strimell joined the band on vocal duties.
